On the evening of October 21, 2021, the IOTA Foundation announced that it would deploy Smart Contracts on DevNet IOTA 2.0. This can herald a new era to help DApp develop more in the future.
According to information from IOTA’s press release, the beta version for this smart contract will be compatible with the Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) system. The EVM ecosystem is integrated with the main language, Solidity. Besides, this smart contract will also add support for languages like Go and Rust.
Simultaneously, the beta version of the IOTA Foundation smart contract will not need permission (permissionless). It also won’t need to go through any auction. It is known that this feature will reduce the barriers and costs to access the IOTA system.
The most noticeable point of the version is that the programmers can adjust the gas fee to 0. In addition, the tokenomic development toolkits are also fully equipped so that the team of programmers can easily use them.
Let’s take a look at 5ROI Global’s highlights from the IOTA Foundation smart contract beta version:
- DAG Ledger Technology: provides a platform to support increased scalability.
- The infrastructure platform of the IOTA Foundation can handle 1000 TPS (transactions in seconds).
- Programmers easily choose their familiar language for more convenient use.
